Inspired by Nature – Design, Colour and Pattern Workshop

Lisa is delighted to invite you to her home and studio in the beautiful Sussex countryside to a colour workshop. Lisa will be joined by Molly Mahon, a textile designer known for her love of colour and joyful fabrics and wallpapers. Immerse yourself with inspiration, define your style and build your confidence in colour.

Unlock Inspiration

Join Lisa and Molly to discuss how to get started with a design scheme for your home. We will outline tips on creating moodboards and Molly will share her own inspirations, including those from her new book The Print House.  You’ll then have a chance to experiment yourself and create a colour scheme using paints, fabrics and wallpapers to take away with you.

The workshop will be set in a stunning rose garden in a Sussex vineyard, with this beautiful setting offering the perfect backdrop to be inspired. Enjoy lunch in the garden and share ideas in a relaxed friendly group.

The Day

11.00: Exploring your own sense of style
11.30  Using colour and pattern to bring a scheme to life – Molly Mahon
12.30: Lunch in the garden
1.30: An opportunity to create your own decorative scheme, experimenting with fabrics, wallpapers and paint swatches
2.30: A glass to Sussex fizz in the vineyard to end the day!

It is designed as a fun and creative day- with groups no larger than 8 people, so we all have a chance to mix and share ideas. Tickets cost £75 and include all refreshments and a delicious lunch.

Morning

The morning is about getting inspired! It starts at 10am with arrivals tea and coffee in the rose garden, with cake of course!

  • Learn the fundamentals of how colour can influence your mood and different ways for achieving the right feel for your home. Discover your colour personality and identify what seasonal personality you fall into. Explore how finishes, textures and tone effect the way you feel
  • Create a simple moodboard, using your inspiration as a starting point to define the mood you would like to create in the room.
  • Ideas and inspiration from Molly about how to combine colour and pattern to create modern country schemes. Molly will share her own inspirations and ideas from her latest book. She'll inspire you to experiment with different colours, prints and fabrics.
  • We'll then have lunch in the rose garden

Afternoon

The afternoon is focused on creating a decorative scheme

  • Now is the opportunity to take your inspiration and translate those ideas into a decorative scheme. You’ll experiment with fabrics, wallpapers and paint swatches. A session with Lisa, this is a fun, practical, hands-on session where you'll create your own scheme to take home.
  • Finally we will finish the day with a glass of Sussex wine in the vineyard. Or tea if you prefer!
